Wyoming WIC Food List

Wyoming WIC food benefits are loaded monthly onto an eWIC card redeemable at authorized stores statewide, including major grocery chains and local retailers. The WIC Shopper app helps participants find approved items and check benefit balances. Wyoming implemented the final phase of the federal WIC food package modernization in April 2026, expanding available foods and benefit flexibility.

Fruits and Vegetables

All participants receive a monthly Cash Value Benefit (CVB) โ€” the amount shown on your benefit card โ€” for fresh, frozen, or canned fruits and vegetables without added sugars, fats, or oils. Wyoming WIC also participates in the Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), providing eligible participants with seasonal benefits to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs at authorized Wyoming farmers' markets and roadside stands.

Whole Grains

Approved options include whole wheat bread, brown rice, whole wheat pasta, corn tortillas, whole wheat tortillas, oatmeal, and approved iron-fortified cereals. Check the Wyoming WIC food list or WIC Shopper app for current approved brands and sizes, as specifications are updated periodically.

Dairy and Protein

  • Milk: low-fat (1%), non-fat, or lactose-free; soy-based beverage in approved varieties
  • Cheese: approved varieties in specified sizes
  • Yogurt: low-fat or non-fat for women and children ages 2 and older; whole milk yogurt for children age 1
  • Eggs
  • Peanut butter or dried/canned beans and peas
  • Canned fish (tuna, salmon, sardines) โ€” available for breastfeeding women and for children ages 2 through 4

Infant Foods

  • Infant formula for formula-fed infants โ€” Wyoming WIC has flexibility for specialty formulas when medically needed; breastfed infants receive enhanced food packages
  • Iron-fortified infant cereal for infants 6โ€“12 months
  • Jarred infant fruits and vegetables for infants 6โ€“12 months
  • Jarred infant meats for fully breastfed infants 6โ€“12 months

Juice and Cereal

100% fruit or vegetable juice in approved brands and sizes is available for women and children. Iron-fortified breakfast cereals must meet Wyoming WIC specifications. Use the WIC Shopper app or the Wyoming WIC food list at health.wyo.gov/publichealth/wic/foodlist to verify approved items before shopping.
