Arkansas WIC Income Guidelines
WIC compares your household's gross income against 185% of the federal poverty guidelines, updated annually by the USDA. These guidelines apply in Arkansas from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.

Automatic Income Eligibility in Arkansas
If anyone in your household already participates in Medicaid (including ARKids, Arkansas's CHIP program), TEA (Transitional Employment Assistance, Arkansas's TANF program), or SNAP, you automatically meet WIC's income requirement. Bring your current benefit card, award letter, or enrollment notice for any of these programs to your appointment instead of pay stubs — it also satisfies WIC's proof-of-residency requirement, so a separate utility bill isn't needed.
What Counts as Income in Arkansas
Arkansas WIC counts gross household income before taxes and deductions — wages, self-employment earnings, Social Security payments, child support, alimony, unemployment benefits, and military pay. If your household isn't automatically income-eligible, bring current pay stubs, W-2 forms, your most recent federal tax return, or an employer letter stating gross wages for everyone in the household.
Income Is Not the Only Requirement
Meeting the income guidelines is one part of qualifying — Arkansas WIC also requires a nutritional risk finding from WIC staff at your free appointment, which nearly all applicants meet in some form; being pregnant alone qualifies. A pregnant applicant also counts as two household members (herself and her unborn child, or more with multiples), which can shift your household into a more favorable income bracket, so it's worth applying even if your income looks close to the limit.
