New Hampshire WIC food benefits are loaded monthly onto an eWIC card, redeemable at authorized grocery stores statewide. Benefits expire at the end of each benefit period shown on your store receipt or in the WICShopper app — they do not roll over to the next month. eWIC Card and the WICShopper App

To activate your card, call the number on the back, enter your 16-digit card number, ZIP code, and the primary cardholder's date of birth, then set a 4-digit PIN. At checkout, swipe your eWIC card before other payment methods like cash, debit, or SNAP. Download the free WICShopper app to check your balance, scan items before adding them to your cart, and find nearby authorized stores. Keep WIC purchases to 40 or fewer items per transaction — larger orders can decline at checkout, so split big shopping trips into two purchases if needed.

The Cash Value Benefit for Fruits and Vegetables

Every participant gets a monthly Cash Value Benefit (CVB) to buy fresh, frozen, or canned fruits, vegetables, and fresh-cut herbs, in any brand or size. For the current benefit year, the monthly CVB is $26 for children, $48 for pregnant or postpartum participants, and $52 for breastfeeding participants. Benefits don't roll over month to month, so use them before your benefit period ends.

Farmers' Market Nutrition Program

New Hampshire WIC's Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) is currently in its second pilot summer, offering eligible participants in Hillsborough and Rockingham counties a separate $30 seasonal benefit — usable July 1 through September 30 — to buy local fresh fruits, vegetables, and cut herbs at authorized New Hampshire farmers' markets and roadside stands, while funding lasts. The program is working toward statewide expansion; ask your local WIC agency whether it's available where you live.

Use the WICShopper app to scan barcodes and instantly confirm whether an item is approved before it's in your cart. Some stores allow WIC purchases at self-checkout — check dhhs.nh.gov/wic for a current list.
