Oklahoma WIC Approved Foods
Updated August 2026
Once you're approved for Oklahoma WIC, your benefits are loaded monthly onto a WIC card that works like a debit card at authorized stores. Here's what's covered, how to check whether a specific brand or item is approved, and how the cash-value benefit for fruits and vegetables works.
Approved WIC Foods in Oklahoma
Oklahoma WIC food benefits are loaded monthly onto an eWIC card accepted at WIC-authorized grocery stores statewide. Your exact food package is assigned at your certification appointment based on your participant category and nutritional assessment. Use the free WIC Shopper App or wicconnect.com to check your current balance and scan products in the store to confirm they're approved before you shop.
What's in the Food Package
Depending on your category, your monthly package can include milk, cheese, eggs, whole grains such as bread, brown rice, and tortillas, breakfast cereal, peanut butter or dried beans, canned fish for breastfeeding participants, and infant formula and baby food for infants who aren't fully breastfed. Plant-based milk, soy milk, tofu, and yogurt are available as substitutes for cow's milk upon request at your clinic.
Cash Value Benefit for Fruits and Vegetables
Every participant receives a monthly Cash Value Benefit (CVB) to buy fresh, frozen, or canned fruits and vegetables without added sugar or salt: $26 a month for children, $48 for pregnant or postpartum participants, and $52 for breastfeeding participants. The CVB can be used at any WIC-authorized store, and fresh herbs are purchasable with it as well. Benefits do not roll over month to month, so use them before the end of each benefit period.
Farmers' Market Benefits
Many Oklahoma WIC clinics — including several county health departments and tribal WIC programs — participate in the WIC Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (FMNP), a seasonal benefit separate from your monthly eWIC balance that's redeemable for fresh, locally grown produce at participating farmers' markets. Availability, amounts, and distribution timing vary by clinic, so ask your local WIC office whether FMNP benefits are offered in your area and when they're issued.
Shopping Tips
Use the WIC Shopper App to scan barcodes at the store and instantly check whether a product is approved, view your current balance, and locate nearby WIC-authorized stores. If an item won't scan as approved, check your clinic's current approved food list or call the eWIC help line at (866) 562-2702 for assistance.
